Alocom is an online education platform built to support schools, teachers, and students in creating virtual classrooms and digital learning experiences. During the Covid pandemic, Alocom became a critical tool for enabling accessible, remote education.
I worked as part of the core design team alongside a mid-level UI/UX designer and a UX writer.

Responsibilities
Conducting user research and interviews
Gathering behavioral data via Google Analytics and Hotjar
Collaborating with QA specialists to test functionality
Designing and contributing to key experiences across the dashboard, landing page, and meeting panel

The Problem
With limited access to digital tools and experience, many Iranian students, teachers, and schools were unprepared to transition online. Core challenges included:
General unfamiliarity with online learning platforms
Lack of easy tools to help teachers and schools go digital
Difficult user flows for creating events, registering, and launching online schools
Language and UX barriers specific to Persian-speaking audiences

Research & Insights
Our research included benchmarking, card sorting, usability testing, and over a dozen user interviews with teachers, students, and school administrators.
📊 Key findings:
60% of users needed a reliable platform to teach students online
75% of students required remote access to learning resources
80% of English teachers wanted to deliver classes virtually
89% of schools expressed interest in establishing an online school model
These insights were crucial in defining our onboarding flows, feature prioritization, and localization approach.

Design & Solutions
To address these challenges, we redesigned and optimized the core platform experience:
Created educational content across social media and blogs to onboard users
Designed a Tour Site feature to walk users through the platform step-by-step
Implemented a ticketing and live support system for real-time help
Redesigned the event creation flow to make it faster and easier for educators
Introduced a wizard-style onboarding system for registering and converting offline schools into online campuses
All designs were created with a focus on Persian language support and UX tailored for non-technical users.

Impact & Metrics
Enabled students and teachers to continue learning safely during the pandemic
Provided an accessible, localized experience for the Iranian education system
Supported freelancers and language teachers with tools to expand their digital presence
Simplified school onboarding with visual progress tracking and support
Improved platform satisfaction through support features and onboarding redesign
Alocom was more than a learning tool; it was a lifeline for education continuity in Iran, combining UX empathy, localization, and clarity to support a wide range of users aged 7 to 30.
